We are excited to share that we are contributing authors for the second edition of Common Diversities, scheduled for publication in the second half of 2025. This project brings together stories of Filipinos across Europe, highlighting their experiences with identity, migration, and community.
The Common Diversities project is spearheaded by Sentro ng Kultura at Wika ng Austria at Pilipinas (Sentro), a non-profit organization based in Vienna. Founded in 2010 by Arlene Castañeda, Sentro is dedicated to promoting Filipino and Austrian cultures and languages. The organization engages in various activities, including language courses, cultural presentations, and community projects, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of both cultures.

In this upcoming edition, our chapter, Cultivating Family Flourishing among Filipino Entrepreneurs through Intergenerational Storytelling, explores how shared family narratives strengthen bonds and shape identity. Through interviews with Filipino families in Austria, we discovered how storytelling builds resilience and fosters an entrepreneurial spirit across generations.
As storytellers, we believe that preserving family legacies is more than just documenting memories. It is about creating meaningful connections that help families flourish. This project aligns with our mission of helping families nurture lasting connections through intergenerational stories.
We are honored to contribute to this book alongside other inspiring contributors. We hope our insights will encourage more families to embrace storytelling as a way to preserve their history and values.
Stay tuned for updates on the book’s release. If you believe in the power of storytelling to strengthen family bonds, we invite you to start capturing and sharing your own stories today.
